Continental caves, to charge for 1st bag

Continental joined American, United, US Airways, and Northwest in charging some coach customers $15 for the first checked bag.The fee won't apply to elite frequent-flier members, passengers in first- or business-class seats, those paying full-fare coach, or military personnel and their families traveling on official orders. It takes effect immediately for travel in the United States and Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Canada for travel starting Oct. 7 or later.That leaves the Big Three of the Free First Bag: Delta, Southwest, and JetBlue.
