AAA sees holiday travel decline

NEW YORK - Fewer Americans will travel for the holidays - especially by air - as the current economic crisis continues to take its toll on spending, motorist group AAA said Wednesday.
Nearly 63.9 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles during the 2008 Christmas-New Year travel period, a decline of 1.4 million travelers, or 2.1%, from the prior year, according its projections.
