For the first time in six years, AAA expects fewer Americans to travel over Memorial Day weekend because of rising costs for airfare, cheap hotels, rental cars and, of course, gasoline.
The expected decrease is only 1 percentage point: An estimated 12 percent of the population will travel, compared with 13 percent last year.
