AIRLINES operating in the Asia-Pacific face one of the most competitive environments for many years as strong growth collides with a potential global economic slowdown, a leading aviation think tank has predicted.The Sydney-based Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation said yesterday that a surge in capacity being brought on by Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern carriers would result in one of the busiest years of new airline activity in the region this decade.
